Rollins College Olin Library Archives and Special Collections: Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings

The Rollins College Rawlings Collection consists mainly of the correspondence between Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings and Rollins College. The material documents her visits to the College, particularly surrounding her participation in the college’s Animated Magazine, an annual event that occurred during Founders Week. The Magazine was a live performance of writers reading from their works to a local audience of between five and seven thousand people.

Forty-eight letters are collected here that record the correspondence between Rawlings and Rollins's President Hamilton Holt, from 1933 to 1949. Rawlings’s letters are the originals; Holt’s are carbon copies.
