- Friends of Carr Cabin are a widely eclectic group of conservation-minded citizens, scientists, educators, historians, preservation specialists and others who have joined in partnership with the US Forest Service to revitalize and interpret a Cracker-style cabin retreat used by the family of the renown Florida naturalist Archie Carr for three generations.
- Marge and Julia: The Correspondence Between Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings and Julia Scribner Bingham, edited by Rodger Tarr, Brent Kinser, and Florence Turcotte, is now available from UP of Florida.
- Kevin McCarthy’s book on the niece of Norton Baskin, a frequent companion to Rawlings and Baskin, is now available online. Sally Baskin Hooker tells the story of how Baskin Hooker, a proud Trustee of the MKR Society, grew up at Marineland alongside Baskin and Rawlings and became a lifetime proponent of Rawlings’s life and works. The book is available through Amazon.
- Dr. Edna L. Saffy was an early and lifetime member of the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Society, as well as a politically active advocate of equal rights and founder or co-founder of organizations at the local, state, and national levels. The University of North Florida Saffy Collection contains not only her Ph.D. Dissertation on Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, but also photos, documents, and ephemera related to her life and activities.
